Privacy Policy

Stasis Home, Inc. (“Stasis Home,” “we,” “us”) helps you understand the water, air, and light in your home. This policy explains what information we collect through our website and our app, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Where a feature is not live yet, this policy describes how it will work when it launches.

A few things up front, because they matter to us:

• We never sell your personal information.
• Your Stasis Score and the environmental data behind it describe a place, your address and the area around it, not your health. We are not a medical provider, we do not diagnose, and we are not a HIPAA-covered entity.
• We extend the privacy rights described below to everyone in the United States, not only California residents.

What we collect

Information you give us directly:

• The home address you enter. We use it to look up public information about your area (your water utility’s reports, nearby air monitors, the likely age of homes in your area) and to compute your Stasis Score. We do not verify that you live there. Because an address can pinpoint a location, we treat it as sensitive information and use it only to provide the service you asked for.
• Your email address.
• Your phone number, if you sign in by text code or opt in to text messages.
• Your Stasis Score and the answers you gave, so we can show them to you and keep them with your account.
• Your account profile and sign-in information, including a Google or Apple identifier if you choose to sign in that way.
• Billing information when you buy something. Payments are processed by our payment provider. We do not store your full card number; we keep your billing contact details, your purchase history, and the card brand and last four digits the payment provider returns to us.
• Anything you send us when you contact us.

Information we collect automatically:

• Basic technical data your device sends, such as your IP address (which gives a rough location), and your device and browser type.
• Usage data through cookies and similar tools, including analytics and product-usage tools. Some of these may record how you move through the site so we can improve it; we mask sensitive fields such as your address and email in those recordings.
• Advertising and measurement data through third-party advertising tools, and marketing identifiers (such as ad click IDs and campaign tags) that arrive in the web address when you reach us from an ad or a shared link.
• Error and diagnostic data that helps us find and fix problems.
• In the app: a notification token and a device identifier so we can send the alerts you turn on, and install-measurement data.

Information the product and hardware generate:

• If you use a Stasis Home sensor in your home, its readings (such as carbon dioxide, particulates, gases, humidity, and temperature), linked to your home and account. The sensor measures the environment; it does not record audio or video.
• Laboratory results for samples taken from your home, linked to your account.
• Photographs taken during an audit, which we use to prepare your report. We do not use your home’s photos in marketing.

How we use your information

• To compute and show you your Stasis Score and recommendations.
• To take samples, run lab analyses, prepare your report, and monitor your home if you subscribe.
• To create and manage your account, and to connect a website record to your account so you don’t start over.
• To process payments and keep records we are required to keep.
• To send you service messages, and, if you opt in, marketing emails and text messages. You can opt out of marketing at any time.
• To keep the service working, secure, and free from abuse.
• To measure and improve the service, and to run and measure our advertising.
• To comply with the law and enforce our terms.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising

We use cookies and similar tools to make the site work, to understand how it is used, and to run and measure advertising. When you first visit, you will see a consent banner: analytics run by default, and advertising and marketing tools load only if you allow them. We honor Global Privacy Control browser signals as a request to opt out of sharing for advertising.

To run and measure ads, we share limited information (such as a hashed email, an ad click ID, and the actions you take on our site) with third-party advertising platforms. Under California law this counts as “sharing” your information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell your information, and you can opt out of this sharing at any time using the “Your Privacy Choices” link in our footer or your browser’s Global Privacy Control signal.

Who we share it with

We share your information only as described here. We never sell it.

• Service providers who help us run the service (for example, our cloud database and hosting, our email provider, our payment processor, our analytics and error-monitoring providers, and our security and link-and-attribution providers), only so they can perform that service for us, under agreements that limit their use of it.
• Our laboratory partner, which receives the sample and the related address in order to analyze it and return results.
• Advertising platforms, as described above, when you allow it.
• If you choose to have a fix installed or to be referred for mold remediation, the licensed installer or remediation partner you select, who receives the contact details and the relevant findings needed to do the work.
• Others when you ask us to, when the law requires it, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of you, us, or the public.
• A successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

Text messages

If you give us your phone number and opt in, we may send you text messages, such as booking and results notifications and, if you choose, local environmental alerts. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP. Opting in to texts is never required to use the service.

How long we keep it

• Waitlist information: until you ask us to delete it, or until you have been inactive for 24 months, whichever comes first.
• Account and Stasis Score history: for as long as you keep your account, because tracking your home over time is the point of the service.
• After you close your account or cancel: we keep your account and sensor data for 12 months in case you come back, then delete it, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
• Payment and tax records: for about 7 years, as the law requires.

Your privacy rights

Wherever you live in the United States, you can ask us to:

• Tell you what personal information we have about you and how we use and share it.
• Delete your personal information.
• Correct inaccurate personal information.
• Opt out of the sharing of your information for advertising.
• Limit how we use sensitive information. We only use your address to provide the service you asked for, so this does not change how the core service works, but you can still ask us to delete it.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. To make a request, email privacy@stasishome.com. We will verify your request, and you may use an authorized agent. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email, opt out of texts by replying STOP, and turn off app notifications in your device settings.

Information about a place, not your health

Your Stasis Score and the environmental data behind it describe your address and the area around it. They are not medical information about you, and we do not provide medical advice or diagnose any condition. We are not a HIPAA-covered entity.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.

Children

The service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new date.
